Providing hope and essential care to Nepal’s orphaned children and stray animals, building a compassionate future together.

Our Mission

About Us

Our mission is to help humans and animals in need within Nepal. For humans, we support children’s homes and schools in Nepal. Unlike in Western countries, children’s homes are not common in Nepal. When the parents are deceased, it is common practice for the relatives to care for the child; but when this is not feasible, the children become vulnerable to homelessness, trafficking, and other dangers.

In addition to our continued support of children’s homes, we assist individuals on a case-by-case basis, ie. providing medical care for a pubescent rape victim who was impregnated; donating medical supplies to disabled elders in a rural village; providing treatment to an young mother suffering from heart failure.

We do not believe it is okay for animals to live in squalor, be abused, or be left to die when we have the means to prevent it. In Kathmandu, every day thousands of motorists and pedestrians pass by animals living in dire conditions - the majority do not notice or do not care. One unfortunate contributing factor to this apathy is the belief that animals are “separate” from humans, and thus not deserving of the same respect. A hungry baby on the street would cause immediate concern. We believe both humans and animals are sentient beings who feel pain, seek happiness, want to enjoy their lives, experience fear, and are (in the case of animals and the humans we assist) unable to care for themselves. We do not believe one (the human) should be elevated above the other (the animal). Buddha teaches that all animals experience suffering and seek happiness. We are not just trying to eradicate the mistreatment of animals, but eradicate the belief that animals and humans should be treated differently.

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive."

Our Founder

Collective Compassion Nepal is a 501c-3 non-profit human services and animal rescue organization founded by a foreigner after being “stuck” in Nepal during the unprecented 2020 Covid 19 global crisis. Inspired by the collective effort and support of the world community, along with the collaboration of the Nepali and Newari people, we have since helped countless humans and non-human animals in Nepal who have suffered from hunger, sickness, abandonment, poverty, cruelty, and neglect.
